3/4
hour
(1998)
3/4
hour ("three-quarter hour")
stars a parking meter brain, a set of human
hands, and three quarters in a an hour long
video loop. the meter shows "time
expired" as the hands drop a quarter into
the slot and turn the crank. the pointer
moves to twenty. two quarters later
shows the meter at the big
"1". the hands and the
quarters return when the time runs out of the
meter one hour later . . . a silly facial
apparition and a discrepancy between the title
of the piece and the length of the video
reveal the contemporary cultural misconception
that time and money are directly related to
each other. |
