cruiser
(1999)
a
video camera captures images that impress upon
a viewer the illusion of forms in
motion. from a single frame one must
comprehend a visual field of forms in
reference to each other. when these
forms change position inside the frame in
relation to a viewer there results a much more
complex visual experience than if the image
were a still one. the bicycle is a
skeletal representation of the glory of human
idea and invention. it is through these
frames of reference that we live our human
lives. and it is through five different
frames that the world according to cruiser
exists: backwheel, frontwheelframe,
frontwheelforks, ground, and self. |
